Main Article Content
Abstract
A 77-year-old female patient presented with right iliac fossa pain, asthenia, anorexia, and a sensation of fever. She
arrived with an ultrasound report indicating an appendiceal plastron. Laboratory tests were within normal ranges.
During laparoscopic appendectomy, a phase III appendix, appendiceal plastron, a small amount of serous free fluid, and a metallic foreign body (galvanized staple) at the level of the appendix were identified. The patient showed a favorable evolution in the immediate postoperative period.
